Skin Rejuvenation

skin-rejuvenation-sevenoaksThere are many different ways we can rejuvenate tired and dull skin. As the skin ages it loses its ability to retain moisture and loses its natural elasticity. Skin cells divide more slowly and levels of important molecules such as elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid deplete. Rejuvenation of the skin is designed to give the skin a boost and to hydrate the skin ‘from within’ to increase its suppleness and plumpness and to help it look more smooth and radiant.

Optimising the products that you apply onto the skin can have a lasting benefit.  Cosmeceuticals are a new generation of skin products that represent a marriage between cosmetics and pharmaceutics. Advanced skincare of this nature uses active medical grade ingredients to effect a change within the dermis of the skin. Optimising your skincare can produce dramatic anti-aging effects and can bring about a complete transformation of your skin. Your clinician can assess your skin type and devise a tailor made skincare programme for you to follow. A typical anti-aging treatment programme would include products like a topical Vitamin C serum to help fight free radicals and help reduce photoaging of the skin and a Vitamin A derivatives to help fight intrinsic aging, to help restore dermal hydration and to help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and pores.

Dermal fillers such as Restylane Vital and Juvederm Hydrate can also be used to replenish and hydrate tired, crepey and wrinkly skin. These products are an excellent way of treating areas that are hard to treat with conventional fillers such as the backs of the hands, neck and décolletage area. These problem areas are renowned for ‘giving away’ your age. Dermal fillers last approximately 6-9 months and help plump out the skin by binding moisture, giving a more youthful, refreshed look.

Other treatments such as Dermaroller (medical micro-needling) can help boost your skin and rejuvenate its appearance. Dermaroller is a new treatment on the market that is transforming the way we approach non-surgical skin rejuvenation. It involves passing thousands of tiny needles over the skin to cause micro-trauma to the dermis of the skin. This micro-trauma stimulates the dermal layer of the skin and increases its blood supply and oxygenation. It also stimulates the fibroblast cell to produce new collagen. Dermaroller has been voted the best new treatment at the Aesthetic Awards and represents an exciting new treatment option for skin rejuvenation.  Dermaroller also works well for treatment of acne scarring as well and can help soften and lift even the most stubborn acne scars. In combination with topical medical grade skin creams Dermaroller can produce astonishing rejuvenating results.

At The Skin Clinic we are getting excellent results with these treatments. Please ask your clinician for more details or book your free consultation on 01732 462844 (Sevenoaks) or 01277 214827 (Brentwood).
