Skin cancer rates are on the increase in the Western world due to wide spread over exposure to the sun’s UV rays and sunbed use. Moles that have irregular borders and irregular pigmentation should be checked by a Doctor, as should any moles that bleed or have grown in size recently. If there is any concern about your moles you will be referred to a Consultant Dermatologist.

Most moles are harmless (benign) and can be left alone but some people choose to have them removed because they don’t like the look of them or because they catch on clothing, hairbrushes etc. There are several different ways to remove moles from the body and face. Which type of mole removal you will have depends on the site of the mole and whether it is raised or not.
