Minor Skin Surgery

The Skin Clinic has a fully equipped minor surgery suite. Minor cosmetic procedures such as skin tag removal and benign mole removal can be arranged. All minor skin surgery at The Skin Clinic is performed by an experienced Doctor. It is the clinic’s policy to send all pigmented skin lesions for histology (examination under a microscope) to ensure that they are benign/normal. Your Doctor will advise you further about this during your consultation.

What can I expect?

There are several different ways that skin lesions/skin tags/warts can be removed. Warts and skin tags often respond to the use of liquid nitrogen (deep freeze) called cryotherapy. Moles and some skin tags need to be shaved off or excised (cut out). Prior to any shave or excision procedure you will be given a local anesthetic to numb the area so that you cannot feel it.

After the procedure you will be given wound care/aftercare advice and a follow up appointment will be arranged if necessary.
