Lustre Blue Light Acne Trial

The Skin Clinic has been involved in a clinical trial for acne with the new Lustre Pure Light Pro device due to be launched this summer. 6 participants between the ages of 16 to 54 with facial acne were chosen to particpate in the trial. They were photographed throughout the trial and their comments and reflections were filmed. All partcipants noticed a significant improvement in their facial acne after 6 weeks, measured by improvements in inflammation, comedone count and general skin appearance. The Lustre Pure Light device is a blue light home device that delivers blue light at a wavelength of 420nm to the skin. Blue light has been clinically proven to kill the bacteria that causes acne. It is ideal for those who want to avoid pharmaceuticals or for those who havent been able to tolerate conventional medical treatent. There are no side effects to blue light and it is safe for people of all ages. Dr Ward is publishing an article on this trial in the June edition of Cosmetic News and presenting the results of the trail to journalists in London in June. Dr Ward and the Marketing Director of The Skin Clinic attended the International Master Course on Aging Skin (IMCAS) in Paris on January 24th-27th. They attended 4 days of lectures on all the latest in anti-aging, laser and light technology, hair loss treatments, skin rejuvenation and radiofrequency skin tightening. The programme was packed full of interesting case studies from some of the top aesthetic practitioners from all over the Globe. Dr Ward also managed to attend a roundtable presentation from Syneron Candela on the e-Matrix ablative radiofrequency technology.
